Default Bow thruster

Anyonewith first hand ownership/use of a small bow thruster? I have seen 3 manufacturers so far (Maxpower, Lewes, Vetus) producing a small thruster that may fit a 23' WA.

Installed a Vetus 55 on my 26' Chris Craft inboard single screw. Moored at a really tight dock.
Works great and an easy install.

You can add Sidepowers SE30 to your list as it is for 20' - 28' applications.

The only issue here is how accessible your interior space is for tunnel / motor installation. Some are easy while others next to impossible.

Let me know if you need a good deal on a Max Power CT45. I have a couple 07 models left. Pretty simple machine. Install cost is at least double the cost of components.

Okay, I give up. How does one keep a tunnel thruster from getting totally gunked up with marine growth?

I give up, too. Why do you need a bow thruster on a 23' boat?

"Okay, I give up. How does one keep a tunnel thruster from getting totally gunked up with marine growth?" Boat lives on a trailer "I give up, too. Why do you need a bow thruster on a 23' boat?" Solo boater, constant 15mph windon the forward quarter, very FU'ed-UP boat ramp Thanks for the offer and feedback guys

You will find that a 6" thruster such as the Lewmar 140TT (100 lbs of thrust when installed correctly) will be more than sufficient to handle your needs. We actually are seeing thrusters being installed more commonly in boats of your size range primarily as a sales tool. 20-26' boats are mostly entry level and the easier the boat is to handle the easier it is to sell the boat, new or used. The hassle factor is a big one in whether or not you enjoy your time on the water. Thrusters have proven to take a lot of hassle out and inspire a little more confidence in both the owner and the guy you keep the boat next to! No sense ending a great day with hardship at the dock or ramp. ALso the tunnels are anti-fouled just like the rest of the bottom so marine growth is really not much of an issue unless the boat sits unused for extended periods.
