Random Quote: Some Hatteras owners don't like Grey Poupon.
I would like to hear from actual owners of these two boats. How have the boats held up, how is the ride, especially on the Nautic Star offshore 2200. I went to the Baltimore boat show a few weeks back, and the Ocean City Md boat show this past weekend, and was able to look the Nautic 2200 over real well, and looked the Sea Chaser 2400 over at the Baltimore show. Also interested in the Sea Hunt Ultra 232, as all 3 of these boat can be had for 35-36k from Ed's.
I like the layout of all 3, plus they all have good bow seating with cushions, which my wife likes. The fit and finish on the
Nautic Star was much better than the Sea Chaser, but i'd really like to hear from anyone that owns the NS offshore, especially the 2200.
After wading through alot of Bull$hit on here i can't seem to find much negative about any of the 3 from actual owners, so i may take a trip down to Ed's this weekend to compare all 3 side by side.
Im also looking at and considering used boats, if they are late model and low hours in excellent condition, but like the idea of having the warranties on a new boat. I want to keep it around 35k so i can hopefully have it paid off quickly.
Also called Chatlees about the Sea Hunt 232, Nautic 2200, and the Sea Pro 238, and waiting for them to call me back with pricing.
This will be my first boat, and mainly used for inshore DE bay, Ches. bay, with occassional offshore on calm days.
Any constructive feedback would be appreciated..
Not too sure if you will find many NS 2200s used, the model just came out last year. So far I like my NS 2000 Offshore (about 150 hrs/1.5 years), rides well (although I got tabs because I like tabs) and is nicely powered with the Suzuki 175. The 2200 will probably like a 250 HP engine, although it might be ok with a Honda or Suzuki 225.
Can't comment on the T-top unless you buy from Chatlee, since mine is one they install. Good one but a little too tall from me to use the top rod holders and radio box comfortably.
Since you have the opportunity to look at them side by side, then do so, some features may appeal to you more than others once you look at them closer.
The Sea Chasers I have looked at in the past looked pretty good as well, seemed to have very high sides, but maybe that is an optical illusion. Their big CC seems to have a lot of owners that like it, think it is the 2400 that Eds usually has some type of special on.
At $35K you will be pushing it if you want t-top, trailer, or 4-stroke bigger than 150 hp. Probably closer to $40K with those options.

Thanks Shem. Actually Eds has the Sea Chaser 2400 with T-top, elctronics box, Suzuki DF250, leaning post, outfitted pretty well,
with trailer for 36k. Nautic Star 2200 OS and Sea Hunt Ultra 232 boat/motor/trailer for 35k, outfitted with same stuff.
I've heard some bad stuff on here about Eds, but these same boats go for 15-20 k more at alot of other places, so it's hard to ignore those kinds of prices.
Would appreciate any other owners that can chime in.

Her is the link for those who may question your figure.
Your right, Ed's prices is too hard to ignore. I bought my Sea Hunt through them and have no regrets. Knock on wood, I haven't needed any service yet, but the way I figure it, the $$ I saved could buy me service if need be. I think alot of negative comments about them may be coming from jealous competitors. Or for some, they have enough disposable income that they would prefer to spend thousands more to get a more individual attention from a lower volume dealer. If I was that rich, thats the way I would probably go to. Unfortunately, I have to budget myself. Heck, why not invest all the money that you save in the market and let it grow interest.
Those are some very nice prices, I paid $29,999 plus TTR for mine before upgrades (extra $800 bump going from DF150 to DF175, then about $2 K or so for electronics and trim tabs at the 20 hr service). I knew Eds had a good deal on the Sea Chaser, never saw their NS prices listed on their site.
The Sea Hunt price is also very good, it used to be about $39K from Eds when they listed Sea Hunt prices. Hope Chatlee calls you back, they may be able to be close to or even beat Eds depending on the options you want.
Are these all 2008 boats and engines or are they 2007s?
Hard not to go with a 2' longer boat for only another $1K.
