Default Renewal of Capt. License question

This is my first renewal of my OUPV 6pack liscense. I was under the impression that the APCA drug compliance letter and enrollement in their program was sufficient for renewal - particularly the compliance letter. I see in the renewal guidelines it says an actual drug test needs to be taken within 185 days or something like that. I don't know where I was lead the wrong way or is that compliance letter sufficient. Sucks because I did the physical and now I have to go back to the same place and I could have done it all at once........

Any insight would be great. Thanks

did you call the coast guard? A couple of things they state in the packet are slightly off. I would put a phone call into them

As you may know all of the issueing and renewals go through the W. VA NMC now all the RECs do are varify your identity and handle the testing.

Actually, you don't heed to show a drug compliance letter and/or enrollement in a drug testing program but you do need to a current drug test result.

I renewed mine about 10 months ago and I did NOT need to retake the drug test. Just needed to show compliance with a randon drug testing program.
