Default 24ft Century WAC w/ air conditioning

Has anyone had any experiance with a 12 volt air conditioning system? This 2007 Model 24ft WAC comes with Marine Air but it's 12 volt. I don't think it runs off of 110v aon shorepower, but runs off a certain batterie with a charger. How will this hold up running all weekend at the dock?

If you are running it at the dock "all weekend", why not just get the real-deal, a 110 unit?

The purpose of the 12V unit is to be able to run it away from the dock.

Keep cool!

Just get the smallest 110 system they have and buy a nice inverter. The inverter will also be handy for using household accessories like blenders. You will be happier with that because it will give you the option to run the ac at the dock. When using a marine air conditioner, you won't be able to use it unless the engine is running or you are at the dock. It might also burn your alternator up having to work hard all the time, but that shouldn't be a problem if you run the engine at higher rpm's (1500 or so). If you try to use it off the batteries it will dissapoint by how quick it will run down the battery and it is terrible on ac unit.

Apparently, the boat does'nt have shore power. I think it has a dedicated batterie for it and a charger. I just don't like the idea that it doesn't run off of 110v.

No shore power, but it has a charger?

Adding a shore power system to a boat isn't that big of a deal. Charger/inverter, outlets, wiring, and maybe a panel if you want it. No biggie. A good DIY'er project.

Good luck!
