I must say this is something we are missing in Charleston. Not really any good places to go eat by boat. But tons of GREAT places by car. There are never any docks at shem creek, California dreaming is good but the dock is high and dry at low tide, and Charleston Crab house well that is a tourist trap.
Am I missing anything good. We all head to the islands like Morris and make our own I guess.......

No docks at the ones I mentioned around Beaufort either. But worth mentioning as are the ones on Shem Creek. Seven foot tides and marshes still intact don't make for a lot of waterfront places where you can tie up your boat. Doesn't hurt the food though. Now pass the she crab soup and Frogmore Stew..
This seems to be pretty much an east coast forum, so I'll throw in a few I haven't seen mentioned much if at all:
The Back Eddy, Westport, MA mentioned once, expensive but good. The Westport "Yacht" Club, much funkier than the name implies, welcomes people who tie up or moor at Tripp's next door. Friendly and laid back.
Evelyn's Drive In, Tiverton RI , clam and sea food dive, cold beer.
S & P Oyster House, Costello's Clam Shack and Abbott's Lobster in the Rough, in Mystic CT.
The Clam Shack in Bayville, NY just past the bridge, where you dock on a float and a skiff brings you over to to shore.
LaMotta's, Manhasset Marina, NY good drinking outside, food too.
Fior de Mare, Great Kills Harbor Staten Island great Italian seafood.
Rosita's Mexican Restaurant, Kingston (Rondout) NY. Surprisingly good, and there is an even better Tex-Mex place up the hill in town, Armadillo's. Kingston's a pretty destination. There is a fun bar type dive all the way up Rondout Creek, but my memory is for some reason very fuzzy....
Lobster House, Cape May, mentioned before, great seafood market too if you want to cook on board. There's another joint across the street that's fun, but technically not waterfront.
The bar-pool-restaurant combo at Summit North Marina on the C&D Canal, when they got music. Pretty setting.
Chesapeake Inn, Chesapeake City.
Too many places on the Chesapeake to list. But for you Tiki bar, more Blue Collar red neck types, Hard Yacht Cafe at Anchor Bay East (up Bear Creek in Dundalk) is a fun hang out with music of varying quality all summer. Over on the other side, Reckless Ric's on Furnace Creek, for a rowdier experience.
River Forest Inn Bellhaven, NC
Captain Ratty's, New Bern NC
Front Street Grill, Beaufort, NC (upscale, "special occasion")
The Sanitary, Morehead City, NC
Panini's Cafe Beaufort SC (one block from marina)
Tubby"s Tank House, Thunderbolt, GA (across street and up hill from water)
The Clam Hut, Highlands NJ
Bahrs Landing Highlands NJ
Salt Rock grill...Redington Beach, FL
Ristorante Delfino, Portofino, Italy
Nepenthe Restaurant, Big Sur, CA (does not have a dock but on the water...you can see for 50 miles!)
Old Grotto, Fisherman's Wharf, Montery CA
Gosman's Dock - Montauk. A bit of a tourist trap, but you have to go at least once. The clam bar there is pretty good - and a reasonable price - Of course their is the Tospide their as well. There is no better view, than to be up top watching the Montauk Breakwater (except for maybe a boat in the inlet). You can get their boat but there is very limited docking
Liar's Saloon - Montauk. True Hard-core Drinking, but forthe most part a fun place. We used to keep our boat at Offshore Sports for a few years - Coming down to the dock at 4 AM for a tuna trip and having many well lubricated well wishers/helpers is always fun. I just wouldn't let them carry the expensive stuff. Of course, my bro worked there as a bartender for a while - I think he would rent out the cabin of the boat - as "love shack" - that didi not last long
