Default Non skid "rust" stains

I've got these rust like stains that keep showing up. Look like what you might see if there was metal shavings left on the deck then they rusted but I clean and they come back.
Now I'm starting to wonder if it is the plywood leaching juice thru small chips in the gel coat.
Anyone run into anthing like this?
Like to keep a clean boat but this is not helping........

Get some of the spray rust remover for Home Depot. It works very well and its cheap.

I would also be vigilant to ensure that this is something that was either left on the deck & rusted or dripped from above. If it's something oozing through, you've got issues.

You probably want to find out how water got in there. Hopefully is was just water getting in that spot as opposed to water coming out of that spot that started somewhere else.

Is it a Scout? I have a section of non-skid in my 2002 model that does this. There is definately some kind of imbeded metal in the surface here. It's not really bad and has never caused a any type of problem other than appearance.

The more I've thought about it, I think its possible that someone was grinding or sawing metal near the mold and the mold was not cleaned properly.

Closely looking it looks like tiny rust specks that are much smaller than a pin head.

Ive cleaned it with fairly good sucess, but it comes back in a few days.

Had the same problem until I figured out it was the shavings from the S.O.S. pad I was using to clean my metal hand railings. If I didn't rinse ALL of it out those specks of rust would show up. Now I only use brass wool when I need this type of cleaning.
