What do people think of this new rig by Grady White ?

I am comparing 33+ foot CC-- Looks to be alot of fishing space in a nice layout--

A lot of boat for a lot of money.... That said, I haven't priced or shopped... Hell, it could be a bargain....
This is not a Grady friendly forum, CC's need to be capable of 70mph or be half the price of a GW or these guys aren't happy.

I was on the boat at the Lauderdale show and it is a beast. For a CC guy who wants to do the occassional overnighter I thought the super console was nice. In the NW there is no sense for a CC that big so I only looked at the boat because of the fact I really like the 330 Express and wanted to compare. Can't remember price but I don't think it was too bad. The funny thing about GW pricing is that most compare MSRP of GW to the bottom line of other boats. Yes they are spendy but not to the point indicated hear on THT.

I like the layout of this boat. I like the big hard top for sun protection and also a place for the kids to go. Also seating for 3 behind the console. and A/C for the cabin and to blow on the helm for what that is worth. downside is that it probably won't have the headsea ride and speed of some of the other centerconoles in the same size but that wouldn't be much of an issue if you don't have far to go. price here for a loaded one with generator and A/C was $275K (marked down from over 300K list)

I checked out the 336 Canyon on display at my marina. Wow, what a boat. The 350 Yammies are towering beasts. Room for 3 at the helm. Nice big hardtop. Storage for tackle all over, just well thought out and designed from bow to stern. Love the hideaway electronics panel. They positioned the wheel at the center of the helm so you're not running the boat from one side or another. The cabin is roomy but the layout is a little funky IMHO. I prefer the Contender FA cabin layout better. Looks like they are reducing the price a bit to move some of these along. It's going to be thirsty. Better have plenty of scratch for fuel on top of the 275+G's. They offered a test ride but I declined for fear of getting the fever.

Awsome boat, it seems bigger to me than the Edgewater 388 CC and has a much better "cabin" as well.

just read a test in "boating" mag...beautiful boat...lge cabin for CC...AC important for here in SoFla...their test data was not impresive for cruise mpg of 1.1 @4000 and 1.0 @ 4500 as memory serves...IMO...twin...4strokes should be better...otherwise...great looking boat

Performance Tests at Optimum Conditions
RPM MPH GPH MPG
1500 8.4 5.0 1.70
2000 9.8 8.6 1.14
2500 14.5 12.3 1.17
3000 20.9 16.3 1.29
3500 28.4 21.3 1.34
3800 31.9 23.9 1.33
4000 34.5 27.0 1.28
4500 38.9 34.7 1.12
5000 43.8 43.4 1.01
5500 47.8 55.2 .87
6000 51.1 67.4 .76

Here is the data from the performance bulletin. Not too shabby for a 33' boat with a 11-7 beam and probably close to 11000# dry.

3800 31.9 23.9 1.33 Not bad at all... About what we are used to on our 306 w/250 OX-66's ... Maybe even a little better.

I got to see this boat first hand last week at the dealership were are buying our 305 Express from and I have to say this boat is BAD A$$!! There is no shortage of room anywhere on the boat, and the 3 person seating at the helm is sweet!!! The width and length of the boat should make it ride like a dream and with 350 gallons of fuel it makes a true canyon machine, hence its name!!!
