angler 204fx performance - The Hull Truth

hey guys,

Been looking at the angler 204fx for some fish/diving, nothing too far out. I was wondering what kind of performance you guys are getting. I saw on their website that 150 merc was doing about 44mph for top, while the Evinrude was doing about 50. The ones with the 4 stroke yamaha 150 seems interesting especially since i've been reading they are a little bit under-rated.

I used to own a McKee Craft 196 which is a little smaller than the 204 but probably a similar weight. With a 150 my boat would do 46. I doubt very much that any 150 would push the 204 to 50 MPH.

I'll agree that the Evinrude won't get it to 50.
My 150 Opti gets my 204FXLE in low 40's at best in perfect conditions. Although it's sporting a T-Top.
3200 rpm's is the sweet spot on mine for cruising and very economical at that speed.
I'd really like to move up to the 2600 @ 24.5 dead rise in a few years.
