I bought the same hull last july with a 225 ox66.The 225 is enouph power as I cruise at @32mph at 3900rpms.The boat has a great hole shot and is good on fuel.If i had to do it all over again I would go with the 250 hpdi as the difrence in fuell ism not that much

I have a 2002 236 with a 200 HPDI (great motor) and consider a 250 HPDI seriously.I didn't go with the F225 at the time because of the $3K price diff. Enjoy your 236, I do.

I have a 2003 236 with the 200 HPDI. I was prepared to order the 250 but the dealer recommended the 200 as a better fit since we have so many manatee zones that top speed is of little importance. I'm pleased with the performance, she jumps on plane quickly and tops out at 40.1 on the gps with half fuel. The motor is very quiet and the fuel consumption is outstanding, averaging better than 3.1 mpg...granted I'm ususally running light with just two people on board.

I'm very pleased with the boat, lots of nice comments in the marina and no problems so far with hardware or fit and finish. I think they are a great buy and definitely one of the better handling 23's available. I suggest seatrialing one back to back with your other choices....you will go with the Sailfish.

Did any of you consider the 266? It aparently only weighs 400lbs more. Is it reasonable to believe that a 250 will push it adequately? At this time, I am considering both, but it seems that the 266 needs at least 2 150's and that gets more considerably more expensive up front as well as MPG! Maybe twin Johnson/Suzuki 140 4 strokes would be a good compromise? There is a dealer in S.FL who will set up with Bomb, Merc or factory Yamahas.

If I wasnt building a new home I would have bought the 266 and still might if the stock market straigtens it self out but the 236 is awesome .I feel when you cross the line from 24ft y ou are into twin engines as I have had both before. The 266 is sweet with twin 150s but I heard this year they are rigged with 200s at the factory. Should be a rocket ship with that power

Ditto to finman. I wish I could afford the 266, sweet ride. I also agree that the 266 would be too much for a single 250. In theory it looks good but...
