Default Tidewater boat wiring

I just got a new Tidewater 2100 bat boat and I need some advice. When you Tidewater owners wired electronics in your new boats, where did you get your power from? There is a switch on the instrument panel labeled ACC. there is a brown/red wire leading from this switch. Did you use this wire as your power source, thereby allowing you to turn off all electronics to be turned off with one switch?
Thanks, Bob

Bob, I recommend that the brown/red wire go to a relay that will kick on a fused circuit that comes from the battery. I don't like the idea of pulling amps thru the ignition switch.

Different bayboat but ran a fused wire from the house battery to a bus bar and installed the electronics (GPS, FF, VHF & stereo)to the house battery. Pretty clueless about electronics but was sure I wanted the electronic away the inginition and the ability to power up and down each one seperately. Will have to install a switch due to low house battery drain but now just disconnect when not using the boat for a couple of weeks.

bayrunner21; Nice to meet you. I am going to connect a wire from the acc switch to a small fuse block and then wire the three electronics (radio,GPS,depth machine ) to that fuse block. There is another 2100 bay owner (onewolf) who did his that way and the manager of Tidewater recommends that method. I am just finishing adding a second battery to my boat, and will soon wire the electronics. The only potential problem I see is finding a good source for the ground connections under the console.
Any time you want to communicate on your boat, I will be glad to try and share what I have learned from working with mine.

To follow up on my own thread. I have changed my wiring plan. I installed a switch in the house power line from the house battery, and then powered a fuse panel from that switch. The radio, GPS, depth machine will run off that fuse panel. The newly installed switch will turn off everything on the house circuit when the day is over. The engine circuit is totally separate from the house circuit with the provision that the house battery can be used in an emergency to help start the engine.
