Wondering if any owners of this boat or similiar ones have made any modifications or additions that have made your life easier or the boat better?

Not 100% sure what modifications you would be talking about but here goes what I have done with my sv2100.

1. Added 74 lb Minn Kota trolling motor
2. Put weather stripping around fish box opening and rod box opening.
3. installed a Ricor fuel water seperator
4. Put a dome light under the console and in the glove compartment. I hooked both of these lights to the switch on the dash for Ass #2.
5. Put latches on the forward fish box and rod box to keep them closed in rough water.
6. Put a lockable latch on the rear hatch on right side.
7. ICOM radio
8. Garmin 240 blue
9. Garmin 76 GPS which is connected to the emergency distress button on my ICOM radio.
10. I yanked out the piece of crap fuel guage and put a Navman fuel flow guage in. It fit in the same hole and now I always know exactally how much fuel I have.
11. Mounted a 3 bank battery charger under the console.
12. Added a high water alarm. I used a float switch and a alarm that I got from radio shack.
13. I added a 2nd builge pump which is a Rule 3700.

That is about all I have done. Please dont tell my wife. She thinks the boat came like that.

Well, so far (6 weeks owning it) I have done the following:

1. Replaced screws holding bimini with pins.
2. Put weather stripping on front hatches.
3. Cleaned up under the console by tie-wrapping cables and reworking the rod holder drain tubes. Instead of 4 tubes from each side going to bilge I connected them in series so only one drain under the deck. I can post a picture if anyone wants.
4. 3 bank charger in console
5. Lowrance GPS
6. Garmin fishfinder
7. Icom VHF radio
(didn't think about those last 4 till I read nick's post)

Future plans:
1. Racor gas/water seperator
2. Hour meter
3. Fuel flow meter
4. Maybe a raw water washdown
5. Areator in live wells
6. Latches for front hatches
7. Folding horizontal rod holders (currently have one on suction cups - may just stay with that)
8. Considering pedastle chairs on front and back raised decks
9. May put a pop-up cleat on front deck if I don't go with a bow mount trolling motor
10. Anything else I can get away with - I am still collecting from the home improvement projects from the last year

Also do a search for sv2100 or 2100 at the boat/motor/equipment forum on www.rodnreel.com. Picked up some of these ideas from there and some from nick7744 on this forum.

Good luck.

Me too on the pictures. Thanks guys great ideas! I especially like the new fuel gauge, I didn't know that some were better than others. The factory one is not very good. I like the lights for inside the Center Console too. Thanks.

Here they are. You can see from the photos that I just cut the tubes longer as a went to the end. When working for a plumber I was taught crap runs down hill . In the right and center shots you can see the factory holes. Since I had mounted the battery charger where I did I decided to run the right side forward while I had run the left side aft. Between that and a couple of tie-wraps it really opened up the area especially considering how I mounted the batteries.

Hey thanks TXBOB,

Very neat and tidy. Now I have a little more work to do on mine. My under console kinda looks like a rats nest compaired to yours.

TXBOB, very cool idea for yor drain hoses i will be makeing the same mod to my boat today. I have a SV2300 with a 225 Evinrude FICHT motor. The boat has been great for the type of fishing i do....Bay and near shore in theWest coast of Florida. One thing you need to do is pull every fitting on the boat and use 5200 to seal them. I'm talking about Rod holders, Running light sockets, and anything else that is screwed down.

WOW! Your console looks much better than mine. Now I've got to go out and get me some hose!

Joe,
You won't need any hose, just the T's. I used the extra after making the cuts to run between the T's to the next holder. I picked up the T's at Home Depot for $1-2 each.

Also forgot to mention I added a cushion (footcush) to stand on while driving. It has helped with the knees & back from hurting.

Nice to talk with some other folks that like to tinker with the same boat (flfishchasers 2300 is close enough).

Some questions back to everyone. How/where have any of y'all mounted your fire extinguisher and any ideas on how to plug the holes where all the hoses were running (I dropped a screwdriver down one while installing the batteries)?

I mounted mine inside on top of where the doors latch. So you basically have to reach in and up to get to it.
