THTers took me out on their boats or around the USA in 80 days
Evening all,
Earlier in the year I asked for advice about touring the US by car. My original timeframe was two months. Now, as we all know, everything always takes longer & costs more. So we were on the road for 80 days.
It was the absolute BEST holiday of my life. No scary stuff apart from Day One on the Freeway from LA to San Diego......no need to discuss that further. We met heaps of friendly people (including a number from THT), we saw a huge amount of your beautiful country, although we barely scratched the surface, & we helped to wipe out a whole bunch of your national debt. We also ate far too much at places like "The Shed" outside Gulfport MS. So 15000 plus miles later we are back in Australia & planning our next foray to the US.
So what is this thread doing in the Boating Forum? Read the subject..........we went out on boats, OK. So for those who met & hosted a couple of Internet strangers, THANK YOU. To the rest of the members, if you are in Brisbane our door is always open & the new boat will be ready soon, although it was due for completion Dec 6. If you are coming down this way, give me a shout. See you in 18 months.
Seasons Greetings,
