What is the Pros and Cons of having underwater lights mounted in your transum? What do they do for you? Sorry if this is a stupid question,,, just trying to figure it all out. How does it help you,,,, or does it??

Fishermem use them while night chunking to attract baitfish.

Barhoppers use them to attract mermaids as they make the boat look cool ........

It looks cool while docked in the Bahamas or the local water front bar. Also nice for night fishing. I made my own a few years ago but they used 50W halogen bulbs which used a ton of juce. They also shined down which made it hard to see. I just got done making a new one using high power LEDs. I just mounted it on the boat but haven't got a chance to see it in the water. This one is mounted on the engine bracket between the engines pointing back. I will post a new thread with all the pics later.

They look awesome, but check out what was happening to us the other night.

I went on a friend's Invincible to catch some goggle eyes up by the Haulover area. We started catching a good amount right after dusk. We turned on the underwater lights and the bite stopped. After an hour of slow fishing, we decided to turn them off and the bite IMMEDIATELY picked up. Made me feel good for not going with them. I have a swordlight, and that's working plenty for me.

I'd like them for wow factor only really.

Hmmm....maybe goggs don't like light at night. I fished for YTs with the lights and they were all over the boat among a bunch of other fish. I like the mostly for the night partying.
