My 2000 5.7 I/O 2352 has been a great boat. 175 hours and very few problems, nothing too small for my dealer in Newport Beach to address and remedy. Had I known what a sh*thole the place was that I bought it from I would have waited and got it there in the first place. For a price boat I have been extremly happy. It ain't no Contender but it's more than half the boat for half the price IMO

Flatfishfever

I agree with Polebender. Do a thorough search here, before you jump. If your name implies what I think it does, we think the same. LOVE them flat fish. Good luck with your search

What POLEBENDER and MUD RUNNER say ...

I think there was someone from this Forum (from NC?) who TRIED to by a Sportscraft from Casey a while back?

Look around before you buy and consider the dealer as a BIG part of the purchase decision!!!!!

Regards,
Bruce W

Are you looking at the 2052? It's the only trailerable boat I know of with a diesel engine... 85 gallons and 450 mile range.

They are great boats, I would be very careful when making a buying decision from this dealer. Make sure you get everything promised in writing. And make sure it is on your purchase agreement, inspect the boat very carefully before delivery, and take a complete inventory of all items that is supposed to be included.anything that is not there they may try to put on what they call a WE OWE, but this form is only good for thirty days. Before you sign any paperwork with this dealer, make certian this is the boat that you want. Their purchase agreement is almost IRON CLAD,with very few escape routes, except for the dealer.

Good boat for the money. I also had a 2352 for 7 yrs. used offshore. James River/ Casey has a very bad reputation but that's second hand- never dealt with them myself

By the way Flatfishfever, I've intentionally avoided participating in the Bayliner / Trophy debate. But I will say this to you and all other potential Trophy buyers. Our 1994 2352 was way more than half the boat for much less than half the price ( well said -Tunas) of the Gradys, Parkers ect. With some noted exceptions, most of the comments I've read here have been second-hand or from high dollar boat owners that want to rationalize their expenditure at someone elses expense.

Personally I think trophy is a finished line now that they lost their cheap motor advantage (force ) and have to hang mercurys on their boats and sell against other boats with Yamaha. I think you should look at Sea Hunts and Sea Pros. They are both priced very well, nice construction, and can be packaged with Yamaha ( The only way to go when you are miles from shore )

And before some trophy guy defends the line yes I think boston whaler is screwed too.

Over the past 2 years mercury has taken a market that they have the most % sold, had another company ( OMC ) go bankrupt, reopen and then still offer a better warranty than a mercury. I think that just flat out shows that mercury does not care at all about boaters.

When the fish ain't bitten ya need to start chummin!

I would take CHUMMIN's advice and make the drive to Richmond (Ashland) and take a look at the Sea Pro & Sea Hunt's - probably not much difference in $'s to what you're looking at.

There are SOME dealers that I would NOT accept boat delivery on (read: pay for) until EVERYTHING was PERFECT, and I wouldn't drive it off the lot until it WAS perfect! That's how much I trust some of the "after the sale" promises - even in writing!!!

How many boats have you looked at in your search? Just curious if you've looked at the above one's or Key West?

Regards,
Bruce W
