Default Eisenglass cloudy?

I bought a used boat with a full enclosure but the eisenglass needs a good cleaning. Plexus did cut and I don't want to try anything stronger without some input first. Any tips would be appreciated.

I am of no use to you but I would also like to read the responses. Is there anything out there that will clean out the slight scratches that they get over the years?

there is a product called 210 that has a cleaner and a polish. I treated mine with the polish and then the cleaner. It made a pretty big difference. Now I just maintain it with the cleaner.

Cool. I imagine that the 210 can be picked up at West Marine or somewhere like that.

Got mine at local ship's store. I am sure West Marine has it also!

Once it clouds I have had no luck bringing it back. Replace with Strataglass and it will never cloud again. You will be much happier if you invest now instaed of later. The newstuff will last and your ald stuff is already gone.

It gets real cloudy if you roll it up wet and leave it for a while. I bought some lengths of the C shaped channel and attached it to the wall in my garage. I hang it there when not in use. It stays flat and gets less-scratched. I tried the rolling with beach towels and the hanging method is better. Once it is cloudy it will never come back clear.

A recentarticle in Boating magazine pretty much said the same thing. Once it clouds, it's done for.

Meguiars has a two part product that may help to some degree but unlikely it will get rid of all of the clounding.

I have had good luck removing the cloudiness by simply letting the sun bake it it for a day or two.

Good Luck!

Nu Finish. It is that car polish in the orange bottle. Boat detailers know it and love it. If it needs heavy scratch removal, McGuyers has some really good stuff. Plexus is a spray cleaner/protectant, use it after the glass is clean and clear.
