Had a chance to see the new GB 3470 when they stopped in Alameda today. It has port berth/head and half berth and galley on starboard. They started in Seattle and delivering boat to East Coast -7800 miles. You can track them at glacierbay.com as they are using Seykey a Volvo product that monitors positon, etc. Kind like a super eprib, but always on. Nice boat, but price is over $220K with 225 Honda's. Inboard version coming next. I shot a couple of pics., but not sure how to post them on this site. GB rep said with Honda 225's its 15-18 knots cruise and this is hull #1, with lots of extras adding 1K to make about 15K pounds. Finished off with lots of teak and holly and nice layout on bridge deck.

Well everyone knows that we like our 260 Canyon Runner... but personally I think they have gone tooo far with a good thing here. Shoulda stepped up to a 28 or 30 ft model.. its too pricey... not many of us normal folk will every even see one much less buy one... honestly ( and i love my cat ) if i wanted to spend that much money I'd buy an inboard small battlewagon.
GB should have seen what other cat builders are doing and stayed within the norms... oh well....
Very much agree Bluemarlin, I also wonder why they jumped from 26 to now 33 and 34'ers from both WC and GB. I would've rather seen a 30'er than over that to offer competition to prowler boats to lower prices. I think outboards and I/O performance compared inboards on 33' and larger boats lose their advantages seeing as these are not trailerable boats and will live in the water 24/7. Like u if I am going t o spend 150K+, its going to have Bert/Hatt/Vik emblems on the side!
the reason they built the 3470 is because there is a great demand for them! I heard they had 40 + sold already! But they are very pricey i agree with u on that.
15 - 18 knots cruise for $220K is a joke, IMHO. The boat looked pretty good but todays market wants faster, not slower, boats. Are they marketing this as a fast trawler?
I agree with both BlueMarlin on the price/size thing and with Jagsare1. 15-18 knot cruise? That is rediculous. If it can't cruise at about 30 knots or so it would be very frustrating to drive. What good is a smooth ride if it takes a year to get to your destination?
Well, I would at least like to see 23-25 knots at a manageable fuel flow with maybe a 30kt WOT.....still think something a bit smaller and less pricey would/could do just as well.
Yeah i like faster TOO thats why i bought a worldcat and not a GB. Still that boat is awesome and it has 225 4-strokes but it is rated for 300's (2) 300 hpdi's should kick it along at a good pace!
I wish they went with a 28 or 30'. I would have bought one in a heartbeat. This monster is quite a bit out of my price range. Why did they jump from 26 to 34? Are they planning anything in the 28-30' range?
I think they cut out alot of people by jumping so much in LOA.
