8'5" beam. Droopy bow. It looks more like a gold chain wearin' googan sport boat rather than a fishing boat.

hhhhuuummm bow looks alittle low (first impression)... And if that's a running shot, it better come equipped with airbags for those times you stuff the bow.

I'm sure it's a nice boat, and rides / profiles right with twin 502's in the back. That pic would have me going another direction regardless who built the boat.

This may be the answer for you boys who want a big CC which won't cause you any problems with the DOT folks for being over 102".

Steve Stepp builds a hell of a fine boat and has for many years, even while Reggie was still racing outboards for Mercury. He has argued that he invented he stepped hull, no relation to his name, and has plenty of experience building go fast boats. He may just be able to challenge Fountain for the world speed record for CC's with that one.

The guy also has great taste because he bought a gun safe from me a long time ago!

Good point TN...

Now if he is a friend, tell him to contact FISHERMEN for what's needed in a CC. Not TMoney or anyother gasser thinking they got the goods for go-fasts for fishermen. Not questioning the running surface of the hull...we are questioning everything else.

Questioning what, a cored hull? You gotta be kidding with that one.

You think that 8'5" beam is going to be unstable? Maybe a little compared to a 38TE or similar, but I'll bet it will ride better.

That diesel powered version with Arnesons would be the sh!t IMO.

How many should I buy for Christmas presents to those who want one?

I've spoken to him a couple of times at boat shows, the thing I remember most was him being opposed to stepped hulls (for several good reasons). He even had some literature against steps. I never heard him say he invented them. Maybe he had a bad experience that turned him against them? His boats don't have them.

TN... The "state of the art" list of features have most of us a little puzzled.... I'm sure it's a great boat.... in calm waters.

Velocity is a great boat. Just becasue that boat isnt what you would want, dont put it down. Lots of guys into go fast style boats are looking for somthing more utilitarian that still goes like hell. These are more like rough water deck boats. The companies that build them have had a lot of success selling them. Think of it as a Porche Cayenne.
