I notice that some people remove prop (and cover it) for winterization and some people don't. Is it necessary to remove it? Do people do this to keep prop from being stolen?
You don't have to. But you should remove it and grease the prop shaft splines to keep the prop from seizing to the shaft. Whether you put it back on now or in the spring is your call.
