Default NMFS at it again

I got a letter in the mail today concerning my South Atlantic permits. It seems that they are about to do to us what they did in the Gulf and put a Moratorium on the Charter/Headboat permits. They are apparently seeking comments from the public on this matter. This is probably nothing more than an attempt to improve the Commercial fishing like they did in the Gulf. They continue to take & take from the Receational side of things when we all produce a 100 times more revenue than the commercial fisheries combined. here are a couple of links on this matter. This first link is for a copy of the letter I have in hand--- www.gpoaccess.gov/fr/index.html and the second is to voice your opinion www.regulations.gov . There is also a Katie Michies's email address who I guess is receiving these comments. Her email is Kate.Michie@noaa.gov .
The whole BS part of this is to quote" control the rapidly increasing number of participants in the fishery." I am sorry but with the price of fuel and boats, I don't see anyone rushing out to start any charter businesses. I am sure the ones that already exist are shrinking due to the economy. Hell who can afford to just go take a charter to bottom fish for 2 grand anymore? certainly working class folks that may have at one time funneled together a 100 bucks or so a piece may have, but now you are talking about 300 to 400 bucks a piece if not more. The average Joes can't do it anymore, and therefore I would say the Atlantic Charter fleet is shrinking.
Please contact NMFS and let's try to stop them from telling us we can't start up a business if we choose to, like they have in the Gulf. Thanks

Their minds are made up. The public comment period is a scam to make it look more legit. The NMFS has ruined the snapper fishing in the Gulf and are about to do the same for the amberjack.

CRP, you are right. i just typed it as I read it off of the Bulletin I received. I have copied will paste the appropriate link for the public comments page. The email address to Kate should be good though. Boomer, I am afraid you are right. I think this is nothing but another ploy to get rid of recreational fishing so the Commercial guys can continue to rape the oceans. NMFS is nothing but a Lobby for the Commercial fishing Industry, along with the bunch of WHORES called the Gulf & South Atlantic Council. It is crazy to think that the boating industry is in such a decline with fuel prices, everyone pinching pennies to survive, & NMFS refers to it as a RAPIDLY increasing fishery. Yeah right. Here is the link. I really hope for whatever it could be worth that those concerned will at least send a message to them. Thanks, Danny
