Default carolina classic 32

Saw this boat at the fort lauderdale show, and it looked impressive. Any thoughts on it or any of the carolina classics? Used the search function, but didn't find much.

I have one that is currently for sale listed in the for sale section. Only selling it so I can move up to the 35 for a little more cabin space. Fishing wise the 2 are the same. They are a absolute beast in rough weather. Very large 32 footer with a 13'4" beam. (yes the specs are wrong). The weight is just about 25000 lbs with no water and 3/4 fuel as per scales on lift. Only bad trait with the classic is the rock but I can deal with that because of the great ride.

Termite- thanks for the input. How has the hardware on yours held up and how do you like your tower?

The only hardware that I had break was 2 latches in the cabin. These boats for the most part are overbuilt including the tower. The tower is actually the weak part only because you can run these boats harder without realizing it but I dought that you will break one. I cut a transducer into the bottom and the cutout was 1 7/8" thick. I think I posted some pics of mine when I took delivery in April of 05. If you do a search you can find them.

I'll let you know shortly.......traded my CC28 in on a leftover CC32......going to run the new 32 down the east coast in a week or two. Can't overland it as it has a full tower. Cannot wait. I am looking into electronics to install when I get it here. If it is anything like the 28 it is a beast.

If this was the boat in Long Island I have some pics of that boat under construction at the factory. I took them when I visited the factory January 05 when my boat was being started.

Thats the boat! Still gets new warranties and has 60 hours on it (delivery there and tests) Dealer has been sitting on it and was realistic on price AND took 2 trades against it! Wish I could get it here overland but Mac said NO to doing anything with the tower. Should be a fun trip I plan to run the coast as much as possible weather permitting. If you could email me the photos I would love it...let me know. Thanks, ken

Thats the boat. I'm in the marine business and do electronic installs so I am going to run it down with a 3010 Garmin I have made portable. I will add a sonar box to it and mount a temporary transducer in hull. The airmar one where you silicone the base down and fill w/mineral spirits........ Then when here i can do the full install of whatever system I decide on. I am looking at Garmin, furuno, and raymarine systems now. Priority is bottom machine as I mostly grouper fish in 100-200+ feet. Garmin sonars have not impressed me, Furuno is nice (I may do a standalone fcv1100...) Maybe a FCV1100 and navnet down and another navnet up top.....I'm having fun looking anyway. Then Auto pilot......radar.....VHF's.........and the list goes on.

And yes he was asking $275k Had the 28 surveyed today for trade and it was fine. Needs a few hoses and The air cond was inop. (never used it! no gen) Oh well the dealer should be happy the trade in was ok.

On the 28 today I saw 31 knots at 3900 WOT 3000 got 22 knts 3400 got 27 Thats with 260hp volvo elec diesels. I usually got about 1.1 nmpg offshore.

Carbo,

Congrats on the new boat. The 32 and 35 CC are two of my favorite expresses in that size range. They are solid, pretty, and just downright bad@ss. If you are looking at electronics, I think the Navnet is a great all around system. We have two 10 inch screen at the helm and the smaller 8 inch screen on our tower, and they have been flawless for the last two years. I am curious why you want the stand alone fcv1100? We have the 2kw transducer that I am constantly amazed with and I like the fact that its interfaced with the navnet system so you have everything available to you in the tower. The new navnet 3 has gotten a lot of publicity in the last week, but it may not be out in time for your install.

I also like your old 28. I chartered one in Costa Rica and was amazed at the boat. It made me a believer in Carolina Classic.

Congrats and Good Luck

Love that boat. Each time I talk with Keith I wish they would make a boat with a little more creature comfort down stairs for here in the NW. I would like to own one of their boats. You need to get the Navnet 3D. I am doing 2 12.1 MFD on our Ocean this winter when they come out.

Spearfish.....I guess I am a little old fashioned as far as the 1100 goes. You are correct in that I would not have sonar up top....so probably won't go that route. I just believe that a stand alone sonar (built by probably the best sonar maker) would be better than a black box. I am going to look more into the new Navnet and time frame of availability. Thanks for the ideas.

How is that 2kw transducer?.....I was looking at the 1kw unit her on the gulf coast.

To those who've run the CC 32, curious to hear the performance specs? Cruise speed and fuel burn? Anyone care to share? Pretty boat...

Our 2kw is better than I could have hoped for. Honestly, it is a lot better than I am. It has great detail but I am sure I could adjust it out to to get even better performance. If you are only grouper digging in a couple hundred feet of water it is probably way overkill, but if you are curious to bottom structure in the 1200+ range the 2kw is awesome. Good Luck on your trip down.
