Default My trip home. Huge THANKS to all of THT. Pics

This is what this site is all about. After Aaron posted about my trailer problems on I95, my phone rang off the hook with people from THT offering help. It was great talking with each and every one of you, Capt Dash, Lex, everyone. Honestly, thanks. I'm back at home and the boat is fine. A special thanks goes out to Capt Brantley at Trailer Headquarters in Ridgeland, SC who literally dropped everything he was doing to get me back on the road. Here are a few pics.

BiloxiGuy

Thats a great story. THT is made up of great people trying to help each other out. Glad everything worked out for you. Your trailer really looked tweaked. That must have been a real nightmare. My worst fear is to break down with a trailer.

How high was your Tee top sticking up in the air? When I busted an axle,I couldn't get no one to tow my rig becouse of the height. If it would of been put on a trailer like yours,My radar arch would of been over 15' up.Ouch.I had to change an axle in the rain on the side of the interstate.A four hour trip turn into a 12 hour trip.Glad you made it!Dash is a alright guy, head strong, but alright and will go out his way to help.

Hey Ben how was your trip across S. GA ? I hope I steered you in the right direction? I think you were wise to avoid the Hoopla in Jacksonville. That is a good looking boat. I suspect that guy was a little over heighth on the RGN trailer, but maybe didn't have far to go, & knew the area. Where Ben was, the wrecker service didn't have to worry about the DOT or anything.

I wondered about that when I was following the semi, never actually measured it. Luckily we only went about 15 miles total, and it did fine going under traffic lights.

We believe the front hub bearings went out and turned the wheel sideways a bit, ripped out the studs, and the front wheel then took out the back wheel. Although this is just a theory.

I definitely think hitting up 57/84/319 was the way to go. You were right though, lots of cops through that town, I got pulled over almost immediately. He just noticed no tag on the trailer and wanted to check me out. No biggie, he just let me go on my way once my license checked out.

Ben checkout kingfishconnection.com & fishska.com for some engines . You may get lucky at one of those sites, if not here. That little town you got stopped in,Ludowici, is the oldest SPEED TRAP I know of. Don't feel alienated. they stop everyone. I am surprised the SOB didn't write you a ticket for something. That is they way they exist, because they have no source of Revenue, since they have no industry their. Ironically, the name of the county there is Liberty County
Glad you made it home the rest of the way safely.

I was wrong, Ludowici is in LONG county as in LoNG Arm of the LAW. Liberty county is about 7 miles up the road from Ludiwici.
