Default Running with one Rudder? Bad idea?

I had a shaft break last week on my Blackfin 29 Combi and when wheel broke off the rudder went too. So, I have a new shaft and prop but finding a replacement rudder is turning out to be a problem. The company that made made most of the rudders for Blackfin (Custom Propulsion) did not make mine and the company that did make mine (Marine Manufacturing) does not have any specs on my rudders and does not make tham anymore. It looks like I am going to have to have a rudder cast (2-4 weeks) and in the meantime I am considering running with one rudder. Does anyone have an opinion as to how the boat will handle or other concerns with running with one rudder? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I have a set of rudders from my Carver 28 project. I have the rudders and shafts, packing boxes, tiller arms, the whole deal. They even have new zincs!. All the parts are cleaned and shiny bronze, not old crud. Ill let you have them for whatever you think is reasonable. I'll never need them and they're taking up valuable room.
In theory you can steer with the wheels, the rudders just offer a more convenient method of controlling the boat.

Thanks Tarbaby. The inboard rudders are the closest I have ssen to the Blackfin rudders. It looks like the ones they make are a 1/2 inch too short for me.

Yottyboy, Thanks for the offer but the Blackfin has transom mounted rudders. The rudders have orings and a notch that I have not seen on many rudders.

I have posted some pictures in the Albums section if anyone is interested.
