Default Engine Flusing Question on 250 Yamaha 4 Stroke!

When I got back from fishing today, I put the boat on the trailer and brought the boat back to my house to put away for the weekend. My brother and I attempted to flush the engine with the fresh water connection (garden hose screw on type - no earmuffs) and we noticed that while water was pouring out of the ports in the lower unit, no water was coming through the telltale.

Anybody have any ideas as to what's going on? And if I don't get water coming through the tell tale, is this a big issue to be concerned about?

The telltale was operating completely normal just prior to removing the engine from the water.

Weird.

not sure but engine had most likely cooled off by the time you got home and thermostat is closed. That might be the reason why it didn't "pee" when you got home.

I don't think its anything to worry about. Probably just due to a difference in pressure on the hose vs while its running.

I had the same issue on one of my twins, and I disconneted the pee hose at the hole it exited, and cleared it with some leader. Water pressure is not an issue where I live, and the fix was easy. Good Luck!
