Default Pursuit 2005 3070 CC

I am looking at a 2005 Pursuit 3070 straight CC. Boat is very lightly used (40 hours), has good electronics and overall is in excellent shape. It is priced right. So the only reservation is power. It has Y225 four strokes. I had the 2870 OSCC and it hads Y225 2-strokes and this was well powered. My concern is while 4 stroke 250's would obviously be better, has anyone had this boat powered with the 4/225's and is left feeling it is underpowered? I think in 2006 Pursuit started putting the new 3070CC with 250's. If the 225's are okay and will be more economical, then I'll probably pull the trigger. lastly, any comments on ride - it is a beamy boat. I also actually like the layout better than their newer models - comments?

Thanks for all comments.

Good hull. I like the boat for obvious reasons. The only way I would pull the trigger on the boat with F225's is if I planned on repowering with F250's down the road. I have ridden on the Offshore/Express model with both engines and owned a boat with the F250's. It was the cabin model mind you but I noticed the difference between motors. FWIW I did not order the boat until the F250's were available. I think I had the 2nd or 3rd 30 that Pursuit rigged with F250's. Great motor.

blue dot I have the express model with 225s and the performance is just like on the pursuit website. I have a rack stored boat with a clean unpainted bottom and best cruise is 4000 rpm and 26mph according to the yamaha guages. 1.5 mpg and 4500 rpm about 30mph with 1.4 mpg. WOT is 43mph these numbers are for a boat with 3/4 fuel and 2 people. I would prefer the 250s but got a deal on my boat. the 250s can cruise at 40mph (1.4 mpg) at 4600 rpm.

I've got the 2870 CC with F225's. I'm not sure what the weight difference on the 3070 is, but I feel like my boat is powered just right. If the price is really good, I'd probably be able to live with F225's until a repower like someone else stated. Hopefully this is quite a few years down the line, but I'll probably move to 250's with a repower on my 2870 when the time comes.

My #'s are the same as doeboy's & agree that while the F250 would be preferrable (maybe even F300) the boat is not underpowered with the F225. The F225 is VERY economical to run

Bluedot.I have your boat with the F250. The WOT is somewhere near 50, but I don't know what the burn rate is at WOT. I never run WOT.
While the 250s are a netter option for this boat, You will be OK with the F225s.

The boat is a nice riding boat. Its a dry ride unless things get rough and the wind is a beam wind. In the winter I run with a curtain in front of the wind shield, with wings attached. That keeps us dry. If you drift or bottom fish you will love it in this boat. I can have 3 "full figured" guys all on one side and the boat does not lean over much.
