inline filter? chemicals what is the best fix for the holding Tank
when flushed the gasses from the vent on the port side is enough to gag the whole boat
what can be done to solve the smelly problem????
I would try extra holding tank chemicals and also flush the tank when pumping out. Keep up with the holding tank deoderant. I think most people with larger boats have gotten a nosefull at sometime when it is flushed with the vent upwind.
Empty, fill tank with fresh water, empty again. Then do a search for the stuff which is not a chemical (non formaldehyde) and use it in the tank. Should solve your problem.
I added an in-line filter to my vent line and an in-line disinfectant tablet holder to the r.w. intake line this past winter and that completely eliminated my head odor this season. Not sure which of the 2 is doing what but now the r.w. coming into the head does'nt smell of decomposing sea stuff from sitting in the line for a week or more and the exhaust from the vent no longer fills the cockpit. Very happy with the results. Previously the odors were occasional when the head was flushed - now nothing - ever.
I did a lot of reading up on heads last winter and learned that the size of the vents on many holding tanks are simply too small to allow enough oxygen in to the tank. If the filter did not work for me I was going to add a second vent to see if that did the trick but I have not had to go that route.
Good luck

Bogii
Install a Sani Guard inline filter from Dometic Sanitation.
Bogii,
I believe you already have the filter (Sani Gard from SeaLand/Dometic - same manufacturer of the Vacuflush head in your boat)
installed on your Cabo; it should be installed in the vent line between the holding tank and hullside vent fitting. Those filters
go bad after a time and need to be replaced. I've experienced the same issue on a Cabo 35' flybridge - not pleasant. Hope
this helps and good luck.

That would be "Odorlos" or "K.O.". If you can't fins it at your marine center, get it at an RV center. Follow directions and don' mix chemicals with it.
The old 99 hull did the same exact thing the girls almost hurrled when the toilet is flushed The new hull 2006 is way better riding than the 99
its a great day boat in sunny PV MX

Yeah, I get mine at the local Camping World. They have it on sale quite often. I use it for both the boat and the motorhome. Good stuff!
Our local Worst Marine has recently put it on the shelf. But as usual, they are ten bucks higher than CW even when CW doesn't have it on sale...
