I recently purchased the 33 sfc I did my first canyon run tihis week. Looking for some feedback I could not run the boat less than 5000 rpm's which put my speed at 30mph and burning 43 gph I had 300 gallons of gas plus 4 guys and ice, as soon as i dropped below 5000 rpm I would lose rpm and boat would not plain off. Did or does anyone have a similar problem My goal is to be able to make it back and forth to the canyon with a full tank of gas and a full load is this possible? Or can anyone give me thier stats in the same sitiuation
5K rpms at 30mph doesn't sound right. I have a similar sized boat (Pursuit 3370)with twin F250's that is slower than the SFC33 and I'm turning less than5K at 30mph (even fully loaded). At 5,700 rpms I'm running 47mph fully loaded.
I recalled Boating Mag did a test of this boat awhile back. Here's what they got for fuel milage and the link:
"The 33 Sportfish Cruiser made 41.6 mph, while burning 35.8 gph at 5000 rpm. It cruised most economically at 4000 rpm, where it sped along at 29.8 mph and burned 22.4 gph for an economy of 1.33 mpg."
cmad- Mule told me about your canyon trip- I've been there- sux-------- Boat is probally proped wrong or a fuel issue- Probally no big deal........... good luck........
Had a lot of time on this hull, re-prop it with 17 Rev 4s as the 19s provided from the factory just don't cut it, too bit and horrible fuel burn as you've seen.
Seems Fountain over props their boats. My 23' came with a 19 Rev4 and run light it is the fastest but run with a full load and I can barely get on plane and fuel burn is horrible. Oil consumption is also way up when its over propped. I had my 19 labbed and the initial results were less than I hoped for so the prop guy is redoing it. I ran a buch of props with Ken from Propgods and running a 19 Enertia was not only a little faster but fuel consumption was much better. ALmost 3/4 mpg better. 11gph at 4000k vs. 13gph with the Rev4.

I know we are talking about very different boats but the companies method of propping appears to be the problem. My performance data sheet that came with the boat states 52mph at 5500rpm with the Rev4. 15 gallons of fuel, no water, no gear, one person, and heres the kicker...it was 40 degrees the day the test was done. Gee...I wonder why it wont pull the 19 with 135 gollons of fuel, 20 gallons of water, full 50 gallon live well, gear, and 90 degrees + humidity.
