Default Yamaha gauges and GPS

I noticed that my 2000 Yam's manual mentions connecting the speedo to a GPS. How is this done? Does the Yam gauge speak NMEA? I want to connect it to my Raymarine C70.

Also, is the Fuel management gauge still available for my 2000 250 OX66 or is that a factory option that gets installed as the motor gets built?

TIA

Joe

Yam FMM gauge can be added at any time.
Kit contains the gauge, fuel line sensor and a wiring harness between them.
The gauge can receive standard nmea from the gps unit and display speed, calculate mpg, etc.
Earlier this year I purchased the Yam FMM gauge kit from SIM on this sites vendor list.
Installed it on my 99 with a Garmin nmea gps speed feed - works well.
Andy from SIM was very responsive in answering my install questions.
Would would definitely buy an FMM gauge again.

Roughly what was the cost of this upgrade?

Thanks,

At that time SIM was running a special, $349 for the kit.

Thanks timing.

The sale is over, I PMed Sim to see what it costs without the special.
