contender 23 open

opinions needed. 2001 contender 23 open single 250 hp two stroke yamaha. to be fished in long island sound-bottom fishing and occasionaly 30-50 mile runs into atlantic for sharks. Enough boat?

I own 23 open w/twin 150's hpdi's & love it .I'm usually able to run off from my buddie's in similar boats when it starts to get a little rough.I think for the size you will be more than pleased.As for for 50 to 60 mile run's with a single engine I've done it in the past with less boat ,but in most cases wouldn't recommend it.You've got to have a lot of confidence in your motor or very good relationship w/sea tow.Just my $.02 worth
