Default 94 Yamaha 250 V76X and 01 Evinrude 250 Ram Fitch

I am looking at 2 Pursuit boats. One has the Yamaha and the other one has the Evinrude. How are the Yamaha V76x motors I havent heard much about them. The Evinrude I know had a bunch of problems but they said that they replaced the computer and it has 130 hours. Any opinions on these 2 engines will be great.

The v76 is a good motor when it has been tuned properly and has the newer style fuel pump diaphrams. They are a pretty strong motor but can be a bit finicky at times. As for the evinrude, I would ask for a recent download of history off of the motor to see how much work has been done to it, some of them were great and some were just problem after problem.

I'm assuming the '94 is the boat year and not the engine year?

I had a 2001 Evinrude Ficht 250 that I put 300 hours on before selling the boat. The only issue that I had was the Lower unit was replaced under warranty. Other than that one best motors that I've had. Have it checked out. 130 hours is no a lot.

Good Luck !
