Default Hydra-Sports Bay Bolt 1900.. Any Opinions??

I looked one of these over pretty good this weekend and liked what I saw. I think the 2004 model is called the Bay Bolt 2000.
The sides are pretty low and I was wondering if that would limit it to strickly inshore use, or would this boat be capable for light offshore fishing??

Great. We get 7 pages of people pissing and moaning about Gradys and Seahunts, and I can't get an answer. I guess I should have titled it. " Hydra-Sports kicks Contenders Azz....

Hey chum,
That boat has plenty of size to get you offshore on a decent day, Make sure you get it with a 150! You will love the performance with that motor!

Thanks Double D. I did a search and saw several post on the Bay Bolt, but they were all on the 23' model. I really like the 2000, and was hoping it could be a dual use boat.
Thanks again..

Where are you located? I have a good friend who runs a 19 Bay out of Miami. He regularly goes out dolphin fishing up to 15 miles. It is not the ideal rough water boat, but the construction is so solid, hitting big waves doesn't make you nervous. He is also 6'5" and has plenty of room for him, his son who is also 6'5", and his daughter who is 5'10" to move aropund in the bay and flats. They can all stand on one side of the boat without that crazy leaning that alot of lighter boats react with.

Chum, a couple thoughts here. I noticed you're in Georgia. I would highly recommend Custom Marine in Statesboro who handle HS among other lines. I can give you some details about their responsiveness and support. Also, talk to the Service Manager there. I can't remember his name right now but he has strong opinions on whether the bay hulls can handle light offshore. I was also looking for the ultimate flexible boat that could handle creeks and bays but also offshore reef and wreck fishing out to about 10 miles. Ended up with a Sea Hunt 20' from Custom.

SCea Hunt. Custom Marine in Statesboro is where I looked at them. I talked to a guy named Brad. I like the Sea Hunts, I just gravitate to the bay type like the HS 1900.

Brad was our salesman when we bought our Sea Hunt. Great people and, for the most part, they know how to treat their customers. Especially considering one of their customers took four weeks to place a deposit and deliver electronics.
