Default the Real skinny: boat research

Do it! I built a sea kayak from a set of plans. You project is more daunting and if you still consider her a "wonderful woman" at the end of the project you will have 2 ladies to be extremely proud of! Best of luck brother. To borrow a quote "The man who says he can and the one who says he can't; are both right."

Fulltilt you quoted;
Perhaps you are correct sir, I would rather be in a boat and using it than build it.

If this is the case, Don't Build a boat!
For me and other's like me, we enjoy the build and take great pains to have everything just so.
Now with that said. I have a dear friend that has built several boats and he's on the water alot faster than me. I took my brother on his boat and my brother commented to me on the side that his work is not near as clean as mine. My dear friend rant's and raves of how clean my work is.
Hell I've turned down fishing trips to stay at home and grind fiberglass! Is that sick, or what?HeHe

I know you are right, I just don't want to admit it--to myself or anyone else for that matter. I'm just really jonesin' for some time around boats--whether that be on one, building one, whatever. It doesn't help that we just came back from vacationing in FL and spent some time on the 'rents sailboat out in the ocean under sail. Not to mention just seeing all the boats all over the place...and I come back here and there's nary a boat to be seen.
So, I do not honestly know what the hell I'm thinking or doing. I'm spending quite a bit of time looking at boats and reading about boats. Perhaps I am just torturing myself and should leave well enough alone and just wait until I actually move back to FL before I seriously pursue a boat. I just don't know.
I guess that until I figure it out, and the GF and I get a chance to talk about it more, I will continue to do what I am doing.
I truly appreciate the comments and suggestions. I did do a search today, and came up with very little. Oh, well.
Thanks again!

Furiously researching boats!

You could buy one today and be on the water this weekend.
You could build one and be on the water next June.
If your g/f is serious about being introduced to the water, you owe it to her to make this happen as soon as possible. Do something impulsive.
