Depending on size and composition, for example what diameter tubing they make it out of and what accesories are included like rocket launchers and electronics boxes, etc..

I bet they can get pretty weighty with some of the more robust designs...

Default TTop weight??

When I was getting mine built, the guy had a t-top for a 25' Donzi sitting on the floor and I asked the same question. I went over and picked it up with no problem. It was a pretty fancy aluminum t-top with the canvas but the electronics box wasn't in it yet. I'd have to say it didn't weigh more than 60-70 lbs. I was able to military press it several times without any effort.

I'd say 200# or so with Electronics box, canvas...now add equipment. Just a guess.

Default TTop weight??

I build t tops for a living. I would say that a bare t top 5x7 with 1.5" pipe legs would weigh 50-60 pounds. Add a fiberglass ebox and it will gain appr. 20 - 30lbs.

Total weight totally rigged out couldn't be more than 150 lbs.

We built a full tower for a 44' sporty with buggy top and all. With no hardtop 4 guys could easily pick it up and carry it. Total height was 18 feet. We were using 2" pipe for the rear legs.

Go to seaislandboatworks.com and check out the "First Time" for pics.

All in all, t tops arent heavy at all. It is the paraphernalia attached to them that makes it add up.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Default TTop weight??

Remember in constructing a T-top that your boat's deck and console have to be able to support the weight of the T-top at the end of an 8' lever arc which will do its best to pry a hole in your hull.

Weight is one part of the equation but so is the fastening point and deck bracing and backing. Too much weight up high, combined with a hull connection not designed to handle that weight can lead to all sorts of problems.

Our dear friend SaltyBugger of cracked Angler fame can probably elaborate more as to how he's designed his new improved T-Top to reduce the stress on his new improved hull.

Please remember to always be careful when changing a boats center of gravity.
