Need Help! Any Boat Transporters out there? I need my boat shipped from GA to SF CAL
I need some help, I just bought my used 24ft Grady White on a 2 axle trailer. I contracted with a boat hauler on U-SHIP 3 weeks ago. He cashed my 1k deposit on Aug 1st and was to pick up my boat on Aug 10th, well now no one can get a hold of him hes a larger hauler (12 trucks) and he has shafted about 10 people like me in the last 2 weeks as I have read his feedback reports, horrible reports like he took my money and never showed up, he took my boat to storage and wants more money, hes flaking out big time and now I don't know what to do, my boat is still still sitting at the marina in GA just waiting to be picked up. ANYONE know of a good hauler who would pick my boat up and bring it to me in SF CA soon? Looks like I am out 1k already, Hope wifie does not find out about this, but shes starting to ask me wheres the boat?? Also the marina in GA is charging me and I don't know how I am going to get my 1k back. ANY IDEAS OR HELP? THX.

If you are using USHIP negotiate before you set up the haul. Get the price in writing, payment in full on delivery. If the guy needs a deposit for gas I don't want to deal with him. I've shipped 3 boats for the company I work with and I pay net 30 after invoice. I'll recommend GFI and Southern Ski Boat.
I've always had a flexible schedule with the shipping, and it's worked fine. A lot of these guys are gypsy truckers, they'll pick up your load when they get something coming back,. All my shipments have been, load the boat/trailer on a hauler, if there is a flat tire or bearing problems it the haulers problem, not mine. Get proof of insurance, DOC number, copy of commercial drivers license. You don't want Bubba with his suspended license and 1974 pickup hauling your boat.
I will soon, U-SHIP has taken away their account already. The guy just keeps lying to me and a lot of other people as well. He has told me (and did again today) that he will pick it up in two days.....he has said this to me for 2 weeks. What an ass, if he would just tell me he can't do it and send me my money back I would forget about it and move on, anyway this was my 1st time I ever used U-SHIP so I did not know but I do now. WOW I am getting hosed! Hey I just put in for a quote at Marine- Movers, I hope to hear something soon. THX EVERYONE!!

THATS WHO I USED! LOL The Hauler had good feedback to until 3 days after they cashed my check, then its been horrible since Aug 4th.
i know that is who you used. my suggestion was uship may offer some user support? I hope so I am all over U-SHIP About this and so are about 10 other people/compines, sounds like some legal action is coming their way. Hell all I want is my boat picked up or my refund back, but if I don't get it then I have to do what I have to do. These guys picked up peoples boat and then told the owners or company that they demaned 1k more or would put there boat in storgage and all sorts of stuff. Bad news.

Very interesting. Sold my boat on Ebay. Seller has been trying to get the shipping company to pick it up ever since. (2 months now) Shipper told me "he had one to pick up in Maine, was comming back through NC, would pick mine up in SW Florida, and deliver it to California." Sound like the same line of BS. My buyer also paid 50%, or $1,000 to the shipper. Sounds like the same company.

There is a hauler from Seattle delivering a boat in Pensacola on Monday, I don't know the carrier and didn't make the contract the haul. I can put you in touch with the builder that booked the truck if you like.
A back haul to Kalifornia could be a good match for the trucker... although it would be alot of deadhead miles

Hey guys, use a reliable shipper that many here on tht has used in the past..Not to blow my own horn but , if you check with a lot of tht members here they will tell you that I am one of the best and would be willing to talk to anyone of you about getting your boats to you... Feel free to give me a call anytime @ 603-867-1878.. Jim Varney ---Tornado RV Transport----Ps. I am a u-ship service provider and have basically stopped hauling for them , because 1:pricing is ridiculous and u-ship cares not as long as they get there money..2: so many of the shippers are getting screwed and it looks bad to all of us out here making a living as shippers.. Do yourselves a favor, remember you get what you pay for and you have to much at stake here...Give me a call, and please check me out ..contact Firefly, and a few others or search boat haulers on the sight here..Thanx for you time reading this ....Jim

I agree, I did not know about all the crooks out there who are on U-SHIP, I thought it was a good place to get things shipped. U-Ship is not much help they did cut this company off but I have yet to see my money back. I will send you a pm Jim and thanks again for the post.
