Random Quote: You gotta be on the tracks when the train comes through
Nobody hates a boat, they hate people that think their $hit doesn't stink because they paid too much for a boat.
From the Reg Thread:
Quote:
That's BS, not all production boats are built with more reputation than quality. You "top tier" guys keep making excuses for your rotten transoms, wood, structural cracks, gelcoat cracks, listing, etc., and us "low to mid tier" guys will keep laughing all the way to the bank.
Sounds like you are the one with the problem not the Grady or Regulators owners. There are two threads right now this one and the Regulator thread where you have a problem. Maybe you should stick to the Bayliner threads since this is where your heart is. Comment on a boat you know about. Sounds like you have a personal problem to those that read this. I do not own either by the way.

Right on FishingGold! There's a lot of "top tier" envy on this board. There are more posters talking trash about so called "top tier" boats than those that will defend them. So, who's got the attitude?
I think all they are trying to say is if you pay that kind of money for a boat then you should get what you pay for. The transom shouldnt rot should be made to where that problem doesnt occur, there shouldnt be gelcoat issues, Stress cracks or bad fiberglass work shouldnt exist. If they are claiming to be the best and you are paying for that "name brand upper tier boat" then the problems that are mentioned shouldnt exist, otherwise why are you spending the extra cash to buy the so called best. I think some people go in with blinders on because they think since they are spending the extra money they dont have to worry about the little things just because they are buying brand X. Only to compromise on the little things and then say "well they took care of my problems no questions asked". Number one there shouldnt be any problems and two, 98% of the boats made will take care of the little problems no questions asked.
You guys fight over so dumb things. Grady White makes a good boat, yes. Those problems need to be sorted out; if I pay their stupid prices for their boats I would expect it to be perfect. Lexus and Toyota are rubbish, there is less plastic in a tube of Lego’s than in a LX470. Lexus stands for Luxury export to united states, its nothing but a fluffy Toyota. Corvettes are trush heaps, geaxbox came out of a tractor, motor from a midevil farm cart, and the handling is a little worse than my boat. Honda and Acura build great cars, but remember you are still buying second best to the European cars. Trophy are turning into an overpriced boat just like anything else "Big B" makes. I mean $100,000 for a 25ft center console that’s a Baylinner, I don't think so. Too much, plus a pile of dog pooh has better resale value. People use to buy Baylinners as their first boat, gets you started than you go drop the big bucks on other boats, if they would stick to that market appeal they will survive. No company can offer perfection like S2 Yachts (Tiara and Pursuit), well for the price anyway, Rybo can do it too. If you want a boat that will last a lifetime buy a Tiara. Buy a GW if you want a top end smaller boat. Buy a Trophy if you want to get into boating.
I sell Exotics for a living, I will sit here and argue cars all day.
German cars are almost as bad as US cars in terms of relability. Japanese cars are the most reliable in our market, and I've owned 5 German cars.

I don't have any problem, my boat has no gelcoat cracks whatsoever.
With my brand being on the receiving end of your jokes for a long time, I am just enjoying the hell out of you "top tier" guys falling all over yourselves to minimize the negative publicity.
"it's normal for a boat to have stress cracks".
