Default Tips on buying used boats?

I would appreciate all the tips possible on buying used boats.

Quick,

best help you can get is "Have it Surveyed" on smaller boats like you are loking at it runs 150-200 bucks and is money well spent IMOH [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif[/img].

yes definately have boat sureveyed, small or large, My brother in law once had his boat surveyed right out of the showroom (1994 wellcraft) and surveyor found many flaws saving him huuuge headaches,and getting another boat. definately get boat surveyed !!

Quick,

A survey is basically someone who knows boats that will go thru the whole boat and tells you the good and bad about the boat he works for you so your best interesats are in mind and lets you know the overall condition of the boat that you can base your purchasing decision on.

Quik,

Take a look at this older post. It discusses things that you should look for before spending $$$ on a survey. But it only use this as a pre-survey check list. Always get a survey before you buy.
