No Honda's but!

I have a 24'5" welded alum deep-v. Dry weight is 3300#'s. Running twin f115's with 13X19 props. Boat will plane at 3000rpm and cruses great at 3900 to 4400rpm's. At 4100rpm we are moving at 29mph. WOT it will turn 6000rpm(which is redline for these engines) and is going 43.2 mph by gps. Kind of close to what you might expect with 115 Hondas I think.

JupiterAK,

I have a Seaswirl 2301 Center Console and my numbers match yours almost exactly.
Twin 115's

I love them!

24 foot grady with twin Honda 130's.

Dry weight is about 3500 pounds add the 145 in fuel at 6 pounds per gallon and that put me around 5400 pounds with other odds and ends.

I GPS at 39 knots on flat water.

Get the 130's if your boat is rated for at least 260hp.

The extra engine weight appears to be a non event.

The Boston Whaler Frontier is rated for 300 HP, if my memory serves me. The best power for that boat was twin 150s. I had a friend with a 25' Whaler Outrage (considerably lighter than the Frontier) and it was very sluggish with four people and fuel with a Evinrude 235 HP. I believe you will be unhappy with less than twin 150s. Having said that, I hear good things about the Suzuki/Evinrude/Johnson 140s 4-stroke. What did it have on it? The gunwales were inclinded to rot also; for some reason they did not use teak. Welcome aboard!

I would look long and hard at the Suzi 140hp 4 strokers.. They're lighter and less expensive than the Honda 130's and are probably just as good a motor. With power.. more is always better.
