Default Hydra-Sports 2200VX vs. Wellcraft 232 Coastal

Realize they both made by Genmar but I was surprised to see that that specs are almost identical (loa, beam, weight, max HP, deadrise). Any one have any experience with either? Always thought the Hydra-Sports Vector line was a step above Wellcraft but is there really any difference?

Thanks.

Jim

Hydra-Sports is Genmars premier salt water outboard boat brand.
The Hydra-Sports vector series has more standard features than the Wellcraft. And Hydra-Sports construction and design features are far superior to the Wellcraft line. Such has the Kevlar reinforcing in the hull, poured high-density composite transom, 100% wood free construction, etc.
The 2200VX weighs 500lbs more than the Wellcraft 232. The 2200VX has a windlass option, and the VHF and Sirius Satellite stereo system are standard.
Check out the Hydra-Sports website and compare the standard features, its a long list.

Thanks alot . You may be right about the features, I haven't checked but both websites state dry weight for each boats at 3600lbs. Where you see the Vector weighing 500lbs more?

I'm a Hydra-Sports dealer, we have updated info on the weights of all models. The 2200VX is 4100lbs dry, no engine or fuel.

Good to know. Thanks alot. I'm leaning torwards the Vector for all the reasons you mentioned. If I may pick your brain for one other item. Just curious is the Vector only avail with Port-potty or can I get option for marine head with holding tank/pumpoff?

Thanks for your expertise.

My 27 Coastal has been a good boat, but it ain't designed for maintenance. I owned a 24 H/S and it was a lot simpler boat to maintain. It just seemed that more thought was given to 'what if this breaks'. Also owned a 28 Coastal inboard, and it was a great fishboat.

The 2200VX comes with a self contained porta potti, there is a option for dockside pump out for it. We have done that to all the 22 VX's that we have sold.
I see that your from LI, we are the Hydra-Sports dealer for the Long Island, New York metro area. Our website is www.allisland.com
I do have one 2007 22VX left in stock.
