Default Marine speaker

I am getting ready to buy a radio and speakers to put on my new boat. I am getting a 25' Contender so it will be used in saltwater 100% of the time. The speakers on my last boat were alpine's and they got rusty on the inside not the outside and this led to a rust mark comming from the bottom of the speaker and going down the fiberglass. I was wondering if anyone had any sugguestions for speakers that do not rust as much or dont rust at all. The speakers on this boat will be in a more protected area so they might not rust as much, but I still wanted to get the most rust free speakers possible.
Thanks

I just put some Poly-planar 6" on mine and they sound good. They claim to be waterproof and corrosion proof. They're gauranteed for 2 years.

Beside corrosion resistance MARINE speakers must be constructed from materials that withstand elevated humidity and must be magnetically shielded. Otherwise your compass will be pointing to Speakers instead of mag. North.
As suggested above Poly-Planar is one good choice. In addition, there are quite a few other brands can be found in BoatUS/West Marine catalogs. In any case it must say "magnetically shielded".

I have a set of Poly-Planars and I absolutely love them.. They are fully shieled, SS and tinned wiring and sound great... And yes, they will crank! I only have a set of the 6.5's and they will rock the boat.. I was going to install 4 speakers, but now, I don't think I need them...

They are worth the money and you really do get what you pay for!

Babb speakers are great. I have had them on all three of my boats. Check out http:\\\\www.babbspeakers.org before you buy. They are truely waterproof and can be submerged.
