GONNA BET THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CARBERATED 150 AND A 4 STROKE 150 WILL BE CLOSE TO $4000,,,JUST A GUESS..THEY WILL BE A HOT COMODITY DURING THE INITIAL RELEASE,, EXPECT TO PAY msrp,,
B&WB magazine quotes Yamaha as saying it will be priced sllightly less than the 150 HPDI (they printed the difference , but I forgot and don't have the magazine with me now). Performance #'s on the one they tested looked very impressive...
I'm the Sales Manager of a Yamaha dealership in Bonita Springs, FL and, just to be exact, the MSRP difference between the F150TXRC (four-stroke 25" shaft) and the 150TXRC (carbureted two-stroke 25" shaft) is $2,590.00. In addition, the MSRP difference between the F150TXRC and the Z150TXRC (H.P.D.I) is $420.00...four-stroke is less! Amazing, huh?
Judd,, i'm very surprized,,, having a 4 stroke in the true "bread and Butter" horsepower range , should give the sales folks a smile,, stock a bunch... thanks for the good info..
Actually the 150 4 stroke is lighter @ 466lbs, and the 150 HPDI is @ 475lbs. The big difference is the 150 4 stroke is a 4 cylinder the 150 HPDI is a 6 cylinder

and ....the 4-stroke lists for 400 LESS than the HPDI..... though several thousand more than a comprable 2-stroke 150....
Hey! Are we talking today's prices, or prices from 3 months ago? Did they go down any since the summer?
I spoke saturday to a Major Manufacture rep over lunch about this very issue... and MSRP on the 150-4 is 400 less than the 150-hpdi. We didnt discuss actual numbers for a conventional carbed 2-stroke.... but at least 2-3K less I would suspect....
