Re: Boat Delivery from Dealer - What do you expect? I do this for a living. I am the delivery captain at SunDance Marine.
The boat should be detailed, not just clean. Waxed.
Everything should be checked and rechecked to make sure everything works.
The warranties and service procedures should be explained to you in detail so that there is no confusion.
The dealer should take you on a final seatrial.
The orientation should take as long as YOU need to fully understand your new boat and its systems.
Break in procedures and the maintenance schedule should be explained.
There should be no less that 2 follow up calls to make sure that you are satisfied and that the boat is OK.
ALL your questions should be answered by the dealer.
This is the bare minimum you should expect when taking delivery. Don't settle for "Here's the keys, uh, good luck!"
