Default Sea Hunt Ultra 196

I found a new boat by Sea Hunt on their web site. http://www.seahuntboats.com/U196-gal3.html Has anyone seen this boat up close and personal? Any comments regarding its design that combines fishing and family amenities would be appreciated. Does it have a full range of storage compartments, ski, rod, fish, anchor, etc.? What is the street price?

Try this forum:

There's a guy on there who just received his 196 and he seems to love it. There are several photos of his 196 posted as well.

I checked one out Saturday, it was a nice layout but price came in at 29K and change with an F150. For not much more, you can set up to a 220 Triton.

I can not tell from the web site if a head will go in the console as well as deadrise?? Does anyone know? It looks like a nice all around boat.

No head in this boat, not big enough to put one in either. That's the reason I went with the Sea Hunt Triton 207 instead - need a ladies room, eh?

Its a nice layout for family fun. Seahunt also builds this floorplan in the 186 and 232. They have been very popular in our area.

What are the other hull sizes that will feature the ultra options? Seems like the ultra needs to be big enough to offer an optional head in the console.

I like the Triton better than the Sea Hunt. In addition to the walk-in head compartment (essential on a boat being marketed to families IMO), the Triton is built better with a higher grade of components and the warranty is much stronger.

New models were just posted to Sea Hunt's web site, the ones with family friendly optional head compartments.

It also looks like the Sea Hunt Ultra series has removed the rear livewell and left the space open for swim platform access.

Triton

Ultra

Triton only rigs Merc but they will pre-rig for Honda, BMC, Suzuki or Yamaha.

I noticed that too, but I can't tell from the website what other features the ultra has that the triton does not. Does anyone else know?

I hope it has a "family friendly" price as well as the family friendly design. The children have to go to college someday!
