Default From the Blue Ridge to the Deep Blue?

Hi all. I live in the mountains of NC, and am looking for a boat that will do as many different things safely as possible. I am looking for a boat that will be easy to tow from my house to the area lakes in the mountains of NC and SC, and that would also be safe to take offshore out 10 - 15 miles on good days. I fish a lot in NE Florida - St. John's River, ICW, and into the ocean after kingfish, cobia, grouper, etc.

I don't know if there is one boat that will do everything well, but would appreciate suggestions of boats to consider for under 30K. Thanks!

Used or new? Used? Plenty. New????????? What you look for in a small center console (23-25) ft is freeboard and sides that have bolsters that are vertical. Not many new in that price range.

Probably used, so I can get more boat for the money and let someone else take the first big depreciation hit. Size-wise, under 20' would be better so I can keep it in the driveway beside my house, and negotiate the steep hills and winding mountain roads more easily.

If I lived on the coast, anything trailerable would be fine, but pulling a boat in the mountains is an adventure.

The Pioneer 197 is a nice and versatile boat that is very popular right now.

I never noticed another Asheville member before. Where do you live?

Hi Allen. Actually, we live in Leicester, and have some classic mountain roads to negotiate to get from where we live to the interstates.
