Default Kicker motor for Sea Pro 220cc

I'm thinking of putting a 15 hp Honda kicker motor on a 2004 Seap Pro 220cc and was wondering if anyone has this setup and how/where does the kicker go on the boat?

Try the "find" and "advanced search" feature on this forum and search using the word "kicker". There's been some recent kicker discussion that might help you.

Here's an example:

Thanks Drifter

What I would like to know is how one is mounted and if it can be done with trim tabs on the boat.

tthomp,
I just put a picture on the forum it's under
using 4stroke kicker instead ......it's under your topic right now.
you can always use a kicker bracket to put it some more of the transom.I cople???them so I can steer right out of the seat.

greetings from holland

Use the 'high thrust' type of kickers, like the ones for sail boats. More thrust and torque at lower rpms . . . just what the doctor ordered . . . handle better in the wind than regular small outboards as you need torque and thrust and not speed with a kicker when fishing

I've already posted a few times about the kicker system I have on my 20' Pursuit. In a nutshell, a 15hp 4-stroke Bigfoot, electric start, a Panther electric tilt and an EZ-Steer. I can sit in the captain's chair and do it all!

I have a 15 HP Honda on my 26 foot Mako and it works great. We troll for salmon and trout on Lake Michigan and can go 1.5 mph for lake trout to 3-4 mph for rainbows. It will push the boat up to about 6 mph max. Don't know your transom layout but mine is a notched transom so the kicker just bolts on next to the main motor. I use a connecting rod that is on the inside of the motor well versus the EZ stear mentioned above that connects the motors in the back under water. This connecting rod (I think the brand name is Goldeneye, but may be remembering that incorrectly) is sold through Bass Pro and Caballas and others I'm sure ($29 for the Goldeneye vs I think $170 for the EZ stear). It comes in stainless and has easy on/off connections, not that that is an issue as I never have to disconnect it - can tilt either motor all the way up or down without having to disconnect the bar.

I'm sure there are other good arrangements but this works great for me. Cheap and easy and all above water so you can check that bolts are all tight.
