Re: Prop recomendation for 28 Whitewater w. twin F225
The F225s redline at 6000 RPM. If you are really only able to hit 4900 RPM then you are WAY over propped and will need to do more than "drop a peg."
Try a pair of 17" Revolution 4s which will carry the load well, allow another 600-700 RPM and tolerate a higher motor mounting height. If you can raise the motors a bolt hole or two you may gain another 100-200 RPM and more boat speed.
RE: Prop recomendation for 28 Whitewater w. twin F225
I just switched over from a set of 19's on my F225's to SWS II 17and went from 5500 to 6000. Talk to Andy on the THT vendor site SIM. That's where I got mine at a great price.
Re: Prop recomendation for 28 Whitewater w. twin F225
Norman put 4 blade Turbo Ultima 4 21's on mine. http://www.turbo-props.com/files/Turbo-Page-5-1.jpg Im pleased with the setup after 2 yrs and 800hrs. However my application is rough water and mid range performance for Northeast fishing ... so Id imagine you might want more top end performance in the Bahamas.
At 4000-4200rpms I get about 38-40mph and burn about 18-20gph. I have hit 6000 super light, down wind, down current... but those days in the NE are rare. WIth a med load (150gal) , few bushels ice, raft, guys, equipment, etcc... she planes in under 3sec with little bowrise and has surprising (especially for f225's) hole shot. All in all -very nice prop for 4strokes on the WW. Maybe it helps.

I'm with Tom W Clark,
From what your saying on 4900rpm,
I'd go with 17 Rev 4's, but check the engine height first.
I would still expect you to turn those 21's a little better then that.
Here is a test from a 27ft contender with F225's.
His engines were too low.
2004 Contender 27ft. not the new hull.
Full tank of gas, livewells filled, 74qt cooler filled with water, 3 people.
F225's with wedges (I believe they were 3 degree) and mounted in the third hole (only one more hole to go higher)
Powertech 18 pitch 4 blade, don't know the exact model.
4000 29mph
4500 34
5000 38
5500 42
5900 45
But this contender was loaded pretty heavy. and Its a heavier boat.
Whitewater says that boat weighs 3800lbs??
Maybe thats a misprint, but if its right, I'd check height and also have the engines checked before getting props.
Re: Prop recomendation for 28 Whitewater w. twin F225
My WW 28 w/ F225's and nothing else weighed 7200 lbs with the trailer at a truck stop when I bought the boat. The brocure said that the trailer weighed 1200 lbs. Boat +- 6000lbs completely empty.
Re: Prop recomendation for 28 Whitewater w. twin F225
Ok, a similar rig (though actually a deeper true V hull): 32 Whitewater, but with F250s. I have the same props: SWS-II 15 x 21s, but here's the strange thing: I had them re-pitched to 22" and can still hit the rev limiters with a medium load (58.5 mph), and 5700-5800 (55-56 mph) with a good load. On the trailer at certified scales, the boat is 8750, so say roughly 7200+ for the whole boat rigged and 1500 for the trailer.
IMO, something is whacked about your set up.
Do you have fur on the bottom of the boat, props damaged, big tower, bad bottom paint, or anything else unusual?
Re: Prop recomendation for 28 Whitewater w. twin F225
Ken2,
I'd say the 3800 is probably spot on. Figure 3800 for the full hull, 1200 for the bare motors, and the last 1000 in batteries, cabling, bolt-ons (not boobs, but bracket, TTop, leaning post, and maybe console parts). My boat ended up weighing what I was told...unlike the last time.

Even stranger, I ran a 33 Contender yesterday with F250's and he was turning 21 Revolution 4's up to 5800 rpm at 51mph.
The F225 and F250 are suppose to be the same gear ratio. I'm amazed that the 21's were turning that high on that big boat.

Ken-IMO, the reason you got to 5800 on the 33C is those Rev4s were slipping. Hopefully, you didn't stay with the Rev4s given those numbers. At 5800, you should be getting 54-55, right?
