Capndick, Wayne Weis moved from Richmond to Mathews about 6 or 7 years ago. It has been said that he had to leave Richmond because everybody there figured out what a bum he is. Everything he owns is a piece of junk which is evident when you pull into his yard. I've only known one fellow who talked Wayne up. He stopped after Wayne kept his boat all summer and never fixed it. The fellow finally had to take it to someone else.
Nothing I can write will ease the pain this person has caused you. But maybe it will save someone else some grief.
I would like to email you with some other info. and a suggestion., but dont known now to through this board?

Bruce, I've been kind of busy lately and have not had much computer time. I did get up to Bud's to look at that Blackfin you posted a few months ago. It is a sweet looking ride and the price is good, but it may be to slow with twin 185's.

The next time you get to Deltaville you may want to check out Bubby Crowns place. He is building a 50+ ft. boat for the Reliance's Captain John Canning who fishes out of Odens Dock in Hatteras. They just flipped the hull and even though its just a hull it's a great way to see how a cold molded carolina style boat is built.

Wednesday night Fryedaddy and I are going to New Jersy so he can eyeball a boat he may buy. On the way back we are going to hit Lewes, Indian River and Ocean City. I'm taking my camera in case I see any cool boats, but as I've said in the past I'm no photogragher. I'll leave that to your expertise.

CD- You have the option of contacting the Attorney General in your state. If you believe your starter is not the same then "theft" likely would be one of the charges. Believe me, if you can get the Attorney General of your state on his butt he will REGRET his actions. The BBB is also not a bad idea since they are a pain in the merchant's butt and they document everything with a follow-up. The Attorney General's office of your state likely has a division of consumer Protection/Affairs. Sickem' on him. Document everything including the visit with the law that accompanied you. The other option is simply filing a complaint with the local PD. Talk it over with a detective to see if your situation has any criminal element(s). The law is supposed to read "innocent until proven guilty" but in more instances than not it is "you are guilty until proven innocent." If you file a charge and do it correctly it is up to him to demonstrate he is innocent. See if you can get to an authorized Shamrock dealer or find a certified mechanic (one that will be recognized in a court of law as an expert) and determine if the starter you have is appropriate for your engine. By chance do you have any photos of your engine before he worked on it? Did anyone else ever work on your engine that might recall what your old starter looked like? Attorneys enjoy taking cases against car dealers and insurance companies. Your mechanic seems to fit into this category. Remember Sears and there outcome? They had to pay big $$ for illicit auto repair. The Attorney General’s office likely would be interested in this matter. There are options that for the most part will only cost you your time. Also many small claims courts allow up to $2000-$2500 and there is also a Special Civil court which has an even higher allowance. The cost to file a suit in these courts is usually around $25. If you can gather other victims you can form a type of class to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office, Division of Consumer Affairs/Protection. The more people you gather to complain the more attention you will get from the A.G. and the harder the rod will be when they insert it in his aft. You don’t have to gather a class but in most cases it sure sets up a slam dunk and the aggravation factor for the accused is immense. Good Luck.

I'd love to hear what you have to say on this clown.
Email is capndick@oasisonline.com
If anyone else has had a problem with this guy feel free to jump in maybe we can get him run out of town on a rail.
Thanks again to all for the advice, some of it is already in the pipeline.

I dont know what the laws are in VA but here in this liberal state of MD they have a consumer protection agency assoc. with the SA office and they will create a new #@$$ole for a jerk like weiss and they will do it quickly. You may want to check to see if VA does this the fee is very nominal. Also in MD if the old parts are not available to you , you dont necessarily have to pay for the parts, and sometimes the services. Maybe this will help?

Fish 232,
I live right near Bay Pines. How long ago did you deal with Panther Marine? I wonder if they changed their name or moved out of town.
I just want to make sure they just didn't change their name. Thanks
