Default Jack Plate can go on either way?

Does it really matter which way the jack is facing? Other than the wire colors?

I don't know about your brand, but the CMC units only mount one way...... bolt pattern......

The steering!.

My brain melted in the heat. I just started H.P. this year. J.P.'s are confusing. Now wait a minuite, because the motor is a 25" on a 20" boat. The jack needs to go 10". I looks a little strange, but if I mount everything in it's highest hole with the jack full up it should work. The blue and green activating wires are backwords on the switch, too.

This boat is either gonna go VERY fast or VERY slow.

Why the wrong engine?
The hyd jack plate will be a useless waste of money since it will need to be in the fully raised position all the time.

They don't make 250's like that that I know of, but I don't think it will be all the way up all the time if I do it right. I did some measuring and think it will work if the motor in in the fifth hole and the jack is full up. And the jack is in the highest hole.
If the boat is 20" and the motor is in the 5TH hole thats 4" which leaves 1 more to break even plus the setback is 1 more inch and that leaves 3 inches, right? If I drill the jack with another set of holes if I have too to gain another inch .

This depends on what I want the jack to do. If it is a skinny water boat than setting up in the highest hole to reach 10" of water and run with it all the way down is O.K.

LUAS right? Ths boat already did ~75MPH with a 2.5L 200HP. I don't wanna know now!

You might as well save some money and get a manual (unpowered) jackplate. It will be up all the time anyway so adjusting it won't be a problem.

Bandit, NOW I understand what your trying to accomplish... I did the opposite, 20" engine on a 25" transom...... Ordered it that way and put the CMC on so I could tuck the engine up behind the boat to avoid rocks etc. at idle speeds.....
If you mount the plate as high as possible on the transom, and then raise it as high as it will go that should give you the 5" that your looking for.......

I agree with the manual jack plate. Why waste money.

what kind of boat are you mounting this on....a 25"motor with a jack on a 20" transom will be putting entirely too much loading on the ransom....especially at those speeds....you are looking for handling issues and possiblty a catastrophy with that set up....go buy a 20" mid and swap your stuff over and make the boat right.....

what part of the island are you from??? i may know of a nice 20"mid for sale....

This is a Merc 250 EFI. The jack is already bought and on there. I am going to remove the double cable steering and go hydraulic. This boat was was built to go that fast. But not built fot the TQ of a 3.0L. I have no plans to ever go that fast in it. I don't think the boat could take it. It used for skiing and tubing, hence the BB grunt out of the hole.
