Default Crabpot buoys save woman's life!

The irony! This recreational boater had a good use for the the buoys!

This all happened within a couple of miles of my home. My prayers are with the family...

Boating at night, NO PFDs! When I tied up at 6 PM it was snotty out there!

Crabpots are typically a hazard to a recreational boater, rather than a lifesaver. . . They are really good at getting wrapped up in props.

I do believe the only compliants I have ever seen on here are about pots that are placed or drift into channels? And we all would agree that that is not acceptable.

What's a crab pot? Never seen one. I heard there was one spotted around down town Jacksonville A few months ago. The FWC has investigated and has concluded that it was just light reflecting of swamp gas. Kind of like the loch ness monster.
There no way that could have been a crab pot.
I wrote it I believe it.

I find it hard to believe that a crab pot marker would support a person's weight, even in the water. Still, if it's printed in the newspaper, it must be true!

I would love to be the detective on that case, so that the hair on the back of my neck would stand down again.

Maybe something smells fishey besides the crab pots?????????

Please post a follow-up on this story.

I spent most of my life ocean fishing on boats in that size range and never saw a circumstance where a person could be washed overboard by a wave. But I guess stranger things have happened on the briny.
