Prop recomendation

OK guys I need some help. Have a 24 foot Searay cuddy cabin with a Mercruser 5.0 260 hp ALPHA drive. Have been running a QuickSilver Laser II vented SS prop with 19P (48 16544 A40 19P). Performance has been satisfactory until last year on a long trip I spun the prop while looping along at 3,000 rpm running in mild following seas. Got the prop re-hubed and ran the rest of summer cursing, water skiing and the general, prop preformed well.

Again this June, running in similar conditions, following sea, 3,000 rpm prop hub spins?

I know the Quicksilver Laser II with rubber hub is old technology and prone to problems of slipping but why when just running easy?

Anyway, the question is what do I replace it with? Another high dollar SS prop with interchangeable hub system or will I get satisfactory performance with high quality aluminum prop?

Guy at the prop shop wants to sell the PowerTec SS system, is it worth the $$? or will I get the performance from a Apollo from Michigan Wheel?

Any advice is welcome, by the way anyone have use for spun Laser II prop?

You are running a 24 foot cuddy with a single 260 HP drive and ony using a Laser II? That is *not* the prop for that boat and motor combination. You should be running a large blade area prop like a Mirage Plus or Revolution 4.

If the 19" Laser II was yielding the corret WOT engine speed, then you want a 17" Mirage Plus or 17" Rev 4.
