Default Trailer repair

This may be a stupid question but how can I easily let my 17ft tri-hull on the ground while I do some trailer repair? It would not be convientent to leave the boat at the dock while repairing. Is there any way to drop the boat and reload it without too much pain, or is this not advised?

TIA
Mike Merrill

Back your boat/trailer up to something stationary: I use a tree. During this operation, keep the boat trailer hitched to a tow vehicle. Tie the boat to the stationary object. Pull the trailer out about 1 foot from under the boat. Place a 6x6 on some cinderblocks and set it up so that it is under the stern of the boat. Put blocks on top of the 6x6 and under the sides of the boat to keep the boat from rocking side-to-side. Slowly pull the trailer out from under the boat until you can get a similar 6x6 setup under the helm. Block the hull at that 6x6 as well. Now, pull the trailer the rest of the way out from under the boat.

Depending on the repair you're doing, you may be able to keep it on the trailer... Just jack up one side, do the repair, then the jack up the other side. Having a wide variety of bricks, blocks and boards can be a huge help.

What repair are you trying to do?

Mainly it just needs to be inspected, but there will more than likely be a few welds that need to be redone and add a coat of paint.
