Default Anyone know the shipping cost from FL to CT

I'm looking to see what the estimated cost would be to bring a 17 foot Mako from FL to CT? Any ideas?

If I had space on my trailer, I'd just take it for free. Otherwise I charge $4 per loaded mile.

Trailer it yourself. You will save a small fortune.

I trailer L.I. to Fl. The only bad part of the trip for me is the BQE. You will not have to deal with that. Figure two days (I am in Southern Fl.) 10 or 11 hours a day. I think I was quoted $3200.00 plus another $250.00 Long Island surcharge.

You might want to put a ad up on here...

http://www.uship.com/

You can price compare, see reviews of shippers, etc. May be able to bargain with a couple of different quotes.

Call THT member Jim Varney who has transported many THT members boats from FL to MA and from MA to FL. He transported my new 24' boat from FL to NH last year and did an outstanding job. 603 867 1878

Does an outstanding job mean it got there in one piece?

Most guys that will pull something on it's own trailer are charging about $1.60 a mile.

Jim takes quite a few pictures of the rig before he leaves and that's after he goes through everything to make sure it's road/trip worthy. He gives you status updates from the road and should something go wrong (did not happen to me but happened to others with old trailers) he'll be there on the side of the highway changing an axle on the trailer and will get it back on the road and not leave you stranded pointing fingers.

Good luck, I'm getting outta the biz. Fuel & insurance costs are killing my over the road biz. I can't pass it on - rules - too many of them.
